| | Gerhard Pavilion for Athletics The Gerhard Pavilion for Athletics (GPA) was one of the first buildings established on the Ranney campus. It is the one piece of the Ranney campus that is shared by virtually every student, in every division, and it has long been an important part of a Ranney education.
The GPA houses a 25-meter indoor pool, weight training facilities in the Tushar Bhatnager Fitness Center, and a main gym with electronic basketball nets and seating for 450. A newly refurbished auxiliary gym provides additional athletic space. Several art studios are also located on its upper floor, including a print studio and ceramic shop.
It is home to numerous regional and state championship Ranney teams, and it’s where students have the opportunity to participate in more than 22 sports from kindergarten through the high school level. It is, however, a place for promoting more than just fitness and health. It is where students have the opportunity to represent the school community, where good sportsmanship and teamwork are encouraged, and values like determination, discipline and responsibility are taught.

Tushar Bhatnager Fitness Room Named in memory of a former Ranney School student, the Fitness Center supports the physical education curriculum in the Middle and Upper Schools and provides preseason training for Ranney's student athletes. Our coaches regularly use circuit training with universal and free weights to complement the preseason practice, helping athletes strengthen specific muscle groups in preparation for competitive play. Stability ball training, popular with students, is used to strengthen back muscles and abdominals, the core stabilizer muscles that support endurance on the field, court, track or in the pool. Ranney's Fitness Center offers the following strength and agility training equipment: - Pace Master Treadmill
- Aegean Recumbent Bike
- Tuff Stuff Universal Weight Machines
- Free Weights and Plates
- Flat/Incline Benches
