Abby Boyan Recognized as Top Goal Shooter

Junior featured in NJ.Com Top Career Goal List and Soccer Spotlight
Junior Abby Boyan is becoming a regular in the local media for her starpower on the soccer field. As a lead goal scorer, Abby helped to lead the Ranney Varsity Girls' Soccer team to the 2015 Shore Conference Tournament - a first for Ranney Varsity Girls' Soccer, when she scored in the last six minutes of overtime last fall.

This year, she is leading the team once again and is on track to reach a 100 career goals, with nearly 50 already under her belt. Writes NJ.com's Brandon Gould about the top 12 female goal scorers, "The one thing that they all have in common though is their ability to find the net and that trait makes each and every one of these girls worth watching any time they step on the field." View the 100-Career-Goal Watch List on NJ.com.

Says Abby in the article, "Other teams have 11 people on the field who play soccer all year round and they have another 10 on the bench... We don't have those numbers and we're a small school, but we can get things done and we do our job."

Abby received Ranney's Athletic Director Award  in the spring of 2016 and the spring of 2015 for best embodying the attributes of a Ranney student-athlete: strong work ethic, positive attitude, loyalty, and commitment. She also received a Coach's Award in Fall 2015 for varsity soccer. She is also a member of the National French Honor Society.
