Fashion Week Designer and Alum Kristine Rodriguez to Open One-Woman Retrospective in Panther Hall

The Class of 2008's Kristine Rodriguez will open the Ranney Alumni Art Exhibition the week of October 4 with a one-woman retrospective. Kristine is Ranney's first Visual & Performing Arts Hall of Fame inductee and her four collections will be on display in Panther Hall Gallery through November 7. She will be inducted on October 8, 2016 at the Alumni Reunion and Hall of Fame Ceremony.

A Ranney Lifer, Kristine began attending Ranney in 1994. She served as captain of the Varsity Soccer and Varsity Swim teams during her Ranney tenure, all while developing a love for the world of art and design. In Upper School, she served as Co-Founder of the Studio Art Club, Secretary of the Class Council, and Captain of the JV Junior Engineering Technical Society. She was a member of the National Spanish Honor Society, Mu Alpha Theta Honor Society, and National Honor Society.

After graduating in 2008, Ms. Rodriguez attended the Rhode Island School of Design. During her undergraduate studies, she cultivated a unique visual language that was rooted in exploring the human body and spirit. In her final semester, she discovered the knitting machine in an elective class, and immediately fell in love. She graduated in the spring of 2012, with knitwear as her new direction.

In 2014, Ms. Rodriguez launched the sustainable knitwear line RESPONSIVE TEXTILES, which has since debuted collections at the prestigious Fashion Weeks of New York (2016), Los Angeles (2015, 2016), and San Diego (2014, 2015).
