Shayna and Jacob Field Honored by Pop Warner

Sophomores Shayna and Jacob Field of Tinton Falls were selected by Pop Warner as Eastern Region scholar athletes for their academic achievement and community service. Shayna was one of 40 students honored as a National Scholar Athlete (out of 6,000 applicants), receiving a scholarship toward her first year of college. Jacob was recognized for his sixth consecutive year as a First Team National Scholar Athlete; he has received multiple college scholarship awards from the organization.

The siblings have volunteered at the Jersey Shore Hospital, raised funds for St. Jude Children's Hospital, organized a bone marrow donor drive, and collected glasses for a group of resident optometrists that provide eye exams and glasses to those in need.

Congratulations to both!

Update: The Ranney siblings were recognized again in late May by Pop Warner as National First Team All American Scholar Athletes!
The awards are based on academic achievement and community service. Out of the 9,700 Pop Warner applicants, only 2% are recognized in this way. Most recently, the Fields' community service included a fundraiser and the collection of old glasses for Salus University's trip to Hati where eyecare is provided for those in need. They are organizing their second donor drive for Gift of Life, a foundation that matches donors to patients in need of a stem cell or bone marrow transplant.
