Fitzmaurices Capture New School Records at Monmouth Co Track & Field Champs

The two-day Monmouth County Track & Field Championships at Holmdel High School over the weekend resulted in Ranney students earning two new school records and four personal records.
 
Shana Fitzmaurice '19 took the school record in the 800, running 2:26.55. Shana’s run surpassed her previous best by more than 3 seconds and the previous school record by 2 seconds.  Liam Fitzmaurice '17, lowered his school record in the 800 to 2:08.13.
 
In addition, Mia Glass '19 gained  a personal record of 5:58.52 in the 1600, slipping in under 6 minutes for the first time. Toby Savage '18 ran for a personal record in the 400, and electronically timed 55.73.
 
The four runners, along with teammates Michael Zheng '18 and Sam Shan '19, will head to the Shore Conference Championships on May 20.

Update (May 18 2017): 
Personal records fell once again as Ranney athletes completed in the Monmouth County Boys Frosh-Soph and Shore Girls Frosh-Novice Championships on May 16 and 17. Olukayode Oladeji '19 kicked his way to a 2:13.7 finish in the 800, shearing 13 seconds off his previous best, and leading the rest of his heat by 100 meters.  Kayo, who also had a pr of 16-8 in the long jump, is well-positioned for a strong competition at the NJSIAA Sectionals on Memorial Day weekend.
 
George Sima '20, leapt for a pr of 15-6 3/4 in the long jump, and ran 1:07;23 in the 400, also a personal record. Matt Wrigley '20, tossed the javelin for a PR of 86-9.

Emily Kachinski '18 had a personal record of 31.69 in the 200.

Jon Greenlow earned a personal record in the shot-put, 25-11.  
 
The season continues with the Shore Conference Championships at Neptune on May 20, and the NJSIAA Sectionals at Delsea on May 26-27.
