Mangano Earns 3 Golds at Nation's Top Fencing Tournament

Sophomore Ariana Mangano of Colts Neck won in all three of her competitive events at the North American Cup earlier this month. The November 11-14 NAC event is the highest level fencing tournament in the country. Mangano took first in the Cadet Women’s Epee, the Junior Women’s Epee, and in the Cadet Team Women’s Epee. View her November NAC/USA Fencing win on Facebook.

“It was an amazing weekend I will never forget,” said Ariana. “This is something that could not have been achieved without the constant support of everyone around me.”

During the 2015-16 season,
Mangano titled in the 2016 NJSIAA State Individual Championships and the NJSIAA State Individual tournament. She also made the NJIFA All State Fencing team last March.

A member of Ranney School’s Varsity Fencing team, Mangano trains with the New York Athletic Club and Atlantic Fencing Academy.

Update: Ariana won Silver in the North America Cup Division I Women's Epee on December 5, 2016 in Richmond, VA. She defeated NCAA Champion, members of the U.S. Junior World Team, and a current Olympian to reach the final strip. Congrats Ariana on another amazing performance!

In related news, 2016 graduate Nicole Vaiani, also a top fencer on Ranney's varsity team during her tenure at the school, continues to dominate in women's foil at the University of Pennsylvania.
