History Bowl Competes in NJ State Championship

On Saturday, January 13, Ranney School's History Bowl Team competed in the New Jersey History Bowl State Championship tournament, held at Ridgewood High School.

Ranney's two varsity teams held their own against a field of 30 very strong schools from the tri-state area, with both teams making it to the octofinal round. One varsity team had already qualified for the National Tournament, and on Saturday a second varsity team did the same. Also qualifying again for Nationals was Zanc Zhao '24 for Varsity History Bee. A number of team members had qualified for Nationals in other events during the December tournament, and on Saturday Will Vibert '25 joined them in qualifying with his 5th place score in the Geography Bee and 4th place score in the US History Bee.

In addition to Zanc and Will, the other members of the Varsity teams were Riya Sikand '24, Justin Atnes '24, Claire O'Leary '25, Caitlyn Chu '25, Micah Seiler '25, Serena Schwadron '25, and Alex Dayel '27.
