Welcome Friends of Ranney

Dear Friends,

Since 1960, Ranney School has provided its students and their families with a distinctive, high quality education whose foundation is built on an accelerated academic and arts curriculum and challenging athletic program. To this day, character building and the core values of the school – the instilling of knowledge, vision, honor, remain the hallmark of a Ranney education, preparing students for success in college and well beyond the school walls. Guided by a dedicated and skilled faculty, Ranney students are accepted at and attend some of the most prestigious colleges and universities in the nation. They then go on to become leaders in their chosen careers. And as each year passes, more and more of our alumni have come to choose Ranney School for their own children’s education, because they understand the value of a Ranney education and a warm and welcoming community.

The past several years have been ones of great progress on the Ranney campus, with the opening of our Lower School Academic Complex and RSPA Panther Hall in September 2008, the development and enhancement of athletic facilities and the addition of advanced technologies that support the educational process and prepare students for the expectations and challenges of an increasingly complex world. There is no other school in our area that better prepares students for a successful future.

Ranney’s ability to produce such outstanding students and exceptional graduates, year after year, is in part a result of the generous support and commitment of our school community - parents, alumni and friends. Community support has funded everything from major bricks and mortar projects, such as the new Lower School and Panther Hall, to library programs and guest authors and musicians. Our alumni events, both on and off campus, continue to grow in participation as former students come together to share their memories of Ranney School, renew friendships with fellow alumni and former teachers, and become involved in advancing the school’s mission. There is no question that community spirit is not only strong and enduring at Ranney School but essential to its future.

I look forward to working closely with all members of the Ranney community to further develop the school’s mission, vision and values. Our dedicated Institutional Advancement professional staff are also here on campus, serving as a resource to the Ranney community by helping develop partnerships, raise funds for school projects and operations, and getting parents and alumni involved in mentoring, volunteering and support.

Ranney is such a dynamic and dedicated community, and I look forward to meeting with parents and alumni throughout the school year. I welcome the opportunity to show you our beautiful campus during your next visit to school and encourage your participation in all our community activities, whether you are a parent, alumnus or friend. There is no question that by working together we will continue to ensure that Ranney School remains the best independent day school in the region.

Warmest Regards,

Russell Gartz
