We look forward to welcoming you to Ranney School and working with you and your family during the Admissions process!
The first step in the application process is to start an online application through the myRanney portal. Click here to begin an application and submit the $75 application fee. Upper School Students may opt to apply online through the Standard Application Online (SAO) through SSAT if they are applying to multiple schools requiring this application.
Once you begin your application and it has been processed by the Admissions team, you will be able to log in to your myRanney account to access your applicant checklist. This checklist will allow you to keep track of the status of your application and outstanding items, such as teacher recommendations and school transcripts.
School Report and Transcript Form
Applicants must submit a current grade report and two preceding years of academic records. Through the myRanney portal, you can input a name and email address for your child's current school registrar. myRanney will then reach out to the registrar to request the transcripts and your current school can submit these online.
Applicants for Upper School may submit standardized test scores from the prior year (ERBs, PARC testing, etc.) If testing is unavailable, applicants may sit for a brief reading and quantitative test during their admission visit. There is no need to prepare in advance for this testing.
If your child would like to be considered for an academic merit scholarship, he or she is strongly encouraged to take the SSAT (Secondary School Admission Test). Applicants may register for the test at www.ssat.org. The Ranney School SSAT Code is 6002.
Once you have submitted your application, we will schedule a day for your child to visit and shadow classes with a current student. During the Panther Visit day students will also interview with a member of the Upper School administration and complete testing, if necessary. We provide lunch for visiting students.
