Alumni Leadership Council

Alumni Leadership Council (ALC)

Ranney launched a new Alumni Leadership Council (ALC) as a sub-committee of the Board of Trustees in early 2021. Ross Gale ‘07 serves as Chair and ex officio member of the Board of Trustees, and the ALC also includes other alumni members of the Board of Trustees. The ALC is intended to be a select group of 15 to 20 Ranney alumni representing a broad range of graduation years, professions, and perspectives. ALC members advise the school on topics including: designing events and programs focused on issues most important to alumni; developing on-campus volunteer opportunities; fostering opportunities for alumni mentoring, career opportunities, and internships; connecting alumni to current students; class reunions and events; and fundraising opportunities. In short, the ALC serves as representative leadership to provide a voice to alumni interests and concerns with the goal of more effectively engaging alumni in the life of the school going forward.

Alumni Class Ambassadors

We hope to recruit Alumni Ambassadors for each class (or group of classes). Alumni Ambassadors will serve as class agents who re-connect with their classmates and encourage them to rediscover and re-connect with Ranney. We will invite Ambassadors to virtual events, hosted by the ALC, to learn about life on campus and hear from the school about strategic areas of focus (e.g. diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; building resilience; experiential learning). We will then ask our Ambassadors to pass this information on to their classmates. Ambassadors can also play a valuable role in asking their classmates to submit “class notes”, engage on the Alumni Connection Network, and if appropriate, consider financial support of important school initiatives. Alumni Ambassadors might also help plan class reunions and other events to engage their classmates.
