Chamber Music Club and Jazz Combo Play for Chelsea Assisted Living
On Sunday, November 20th, Ranney School’s Chamber Music Club and Jazz Combo played at Chelsea Assisted living in Tinton Falls. The music groups played music in several genres, including pop, jazz, and classical. It was a first-timer for Ranney to play at a nursing home during the regular school year, and activities such as this have a significant impact on the residents of the nursing home. One lady expressed her gratitude for this activity, and she said, “my mother has Alzheimer’s, and that’s why I’m here.” Music clubs at Ranney will also raise money for good causes, such as Alzheimer’s research; activities such as playing in a nursing home brings joy to its residents as well as students.
