Welcome to Ranney School! I thank you for your interest in learning more about what Ranney has to offer and I look forward to getting to know your family. As I embark on my sixth year as Head of School, I am proud to share my strong conviction that Ranney offers a unique and exceptional program.
As an independent day school, Ranney’s raison d’etre is its students — our ultimate goal, as educators, as an institution, is to ensure each student is nurtured and challenged to reach his or her full potential. We balance excellence in traditional subjects with a quest to provide our students with an innovative curriculum that will prepare our students for college and the increasing dynamism of the world.
Our faculty are the heart of our school. They care deeply about the success and development of every child. Our faculty take the time to understand each student’s strengths, challenges, fears, and dreams. In every division, students are supported by a team of educators who collaborate to nurture academic and extracurricular success as well as personal growth. More than 60% of our faculty have advanced degrees, and all of our faculty engage in ongoing professional development to ensure they bring the best to our students each and every day.
As an independent school, we are at our best with the full support of and partnership with our parents. If you choose to join our community, I will invite you to engage with us and participate in the life of your children at the school. You will be welcome to seek out meetings with leadership and faculty and to engage in constructive dialogue about our school’s strategic priorities.
I look forward to getting to welcoming you to our family.
My best regards, on behalf of the Ranney Community,
Dr. John W. Griffith, Head of School
