Visual Arts Are Blooming at Ranney

Your gift—of any size—to the Ranney Fund can help us enhance our Visual Arts program—creating habits of mind for success!

At Ranney School, the Visual Arts are a robust part of curriculum at every level. Ranney cultivates each student’s unique capacities for expression, communication, and discovery. Visual arts instruction fosters higher-level critical thinking, problem-solving, sustained attention, and creative imagination—essential skills and capacities that are part of Ranney’s comprehensive, integrated approach to STEAM and Design Thinking.
Your generous support will enable us to make exciting enhancements to our Visual Arts program:

List of 3 items.

  • Imagine….renovated and new studio spaces

We envision renovating the two main studio spaces in the Visual Arts Building. Plans include the creation of a new outdoor sculpture garden adjacent to the north side of the building and constructing an indoor spray room to allow students to paint and preserve art works in a ventilated protected space. We also plan to relocate the Lower School art studio to the Lower School classroom wing.
  • Imagine…new tools and equipment

Ranney must continually invest in tools and materials that allow our students to explore and express themselves. Our plans include the creation of a permanent outdoor space for the new Raku kiln, purchasing additional cameras, hand tools for our Innovation Labs, and a large dry mount press for photography and artwork.
  • Imagine…opportunities for faculty to inspire and develop skills

Investments in professional development ensure our teachers are trained in relevant software for graphic design, video editing, web development applications, and more.
You may make your gift in honor of retiring Visual Arts Teachers Pam Shipley or Barbara Levine who have helped hundreds of students discover their inner artists and prepared them to thrive in a visual age.
