Sailing Wins Third-Straight NJ 2019 Spring Fleet Championship
The Ranney School sailing team battled against 17 other New Jersey Schools in the 2019 Spring Fleet Championship. The top four teams in the Spring Fleet Championship earn the right to compete in the Mid-Atlantic Spring Championship Regatta (MASSA) in Annapolis on April 13-14.
The Panthers hit the water in in Toms River, NJ under shifty winds and balmy conditions on Saturday, March 30. It took only three sets for the Panthers to gain control of the regatta, going on to win by 23 points. This year’s victory marks the third year in a row that the Ranney sailors have won this regatta.
In two weeks, the Panthers will compete against 19 schools in Annapolis to earn the right to go back to the National Championship.
Congratulations on the three-peat to coach Clay Johnson and sailors, Luke Arnone, Blake Epstein, Cameron Giblin, Matthew Hamelsky, William Baer, John Cocozza, Brooke Schmelz and Ashley Abboud.
