8th Grade Impresses with Capstone Presentations

Capstone presentations for Ranney School’s eighth grade students were held in Panther Hall on May 13-15. The presentations were created with the guidance of Mr. Eric Timken, Middle School History teacher, and represented the culmination of work begun in January with a student-driven inquiry research paper under the aegis of Middle School English teacher Dr. Carol Palermo.

Students showcased their writing, technology, and public speaking skills on topics as diverse as climate change, the history of the English language, and the evolution of American sitcoms.

The Capstone project is the highlight of the Ranney middle school experience, giving students the opportunity to challenge themselves intellectually and to explore personal passions and interests.
