Boys' Varsity Soccer Falls to Top Seed in State Quarterfinals

The boys’ varsity soccer team, seeded ninth, took on No. 1 seed Wardlaw-Hartridge in the quarterfinals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Non-Public B tournament, falling in penalty kicks after a double-overtime draw.

The Panthers scored early, with a goal by Charles Anyichie ’22, but Wardlaw-Hartridge tied it up with 5:29 left in the half. The game remained tied through double-overtime, forcing penalty kicks.

The Panthers defeated No. 8 seed Trenton Catholic 3-1 in penalty kicks after a 2-2 double-overtime draw in their first round game of the state tournament. Jett Pacifico ’22 and Charlie McCann ’22 each scored a goal each in regulation for Ranney.

The Panthers had a great season, qualifying for the Shore Conference Tournament and winning the division, with a lot of young talent to lead Ranney School in the coming years!
