Ranney Participates in Global #HourofCode

All Ranney Lower School students are participating in The Hour of Code, held this week as part of Computer Science Education Week. There is a busy week of scheduling planned, with activities that are age appropriate at each level. For the younger students, Lower and Middle School Computer Science Department Faculty member Maureen Wood travels to their classrooms and uses iPads for the activities, while the older students meet in Searle Library.

The Hour of Code programs feature Angry Birds, Startrack, Minecraft, Scratch, and other popular programs to engage and teach the students.

Visit CODE.ORG to test programming activities. Here is a link to a video that explains the Hour of Code.
