Asbury Park Press All Decade Teams Feature 3 Former Ranney Student Athletes

Ranney alumni, Matthew Chang ’18, has been named 2nd Team All Decade in Swimming! Matt is currently a student at Cornell University and he was Ranney's first ever Shore Conference Champion!

Coach Peter DeNoble says, "Matt was a dedicated swimmer who cared very much about his community. Matt trained at a very high level which typically does not allow much time to be spent focusing on other interests. However, Matt accepted that challenge like all others, without hesitation. Matt rarely missed any school meet or obligation and even spearheaded the "Swim across America" event that raised money for cancer research. Matt's impact on our school and program here at Ranney will be felt for many years to come."

Additionally, boys basketball roster features McDonald All Americans and TOC Champions, Bryan Antoine ‘19 and Scottie Lewis ’19.  Scottie is playing at Florida and Bryan is at Villanova.

Coach Tahj Holden shares some words on both players, “Scottie was the ultimate competitor. He didn’t want to lose a game, a sprint, or a drill. Watching him grow into the player that he is now was a pleasure, and I know he’s only going to get better every year. The most incredible thing about him is that he’s a better person than he is a basketball player, and that’ll never change. I’m looking forward to seeing him as a finished product.

Bryan is probably the most gifted scorer I’ve been around. Scoring comes so naturally to him that sometimes we didn’t notice that he had 20+ points most nights. Although he is the Shore Conference's all-time leading scorer, you’d never know it as he’s a humble, sometimes quite young man. The one thing I appreciate more each day was how tough he was by the time he graduated. He played his entire senior season with a shoulder injury and I don’t think he did it for himself, but he did it for his teammates.”

Congratulations to all our alumni Athletes!
