US Orchestra Hosts Jacob Egol '19 as Guest Speaker
Dr. Sobieski’s Upper School Orchestra/Music Theory class is starting a series “Guests of the Orchestra,” and hosted the first guest today.
Jacob Egol ‘19 shared with the class his first-year experience at Duke University. He spoke about classes he took, which included Applied Music Cello Lessons, Chamber Music and Orchestra), his experience in Duke Performing Arts, his schedule, life in the dorm, how Ranney prepared him for a successful first year, and how participation in Ranney Performing Arts helped him at Duke.
“Joining the Performing Arts classes at Duke and being able to continue on the music path certainly helped Jacob make friends in college, fit in groups of people that share his interests,” said Dr. Sobieski. “He had a great year!”
“It was great to connect with my former peers in the Upper School Orchestra, reflect on my freshman year experience at Duke and give insight into the diverse and fun musical opportunities which Ranney students can look forward to once they’re in college,” said Egol.
