US Speech and Debate Has Strong Showing at Competition
Twelve students in Upper School Speech and Debate competed this past Saturday (11/21) in a virtual tournament hosted by Randolph High School. With students competing in three categories, Ranney had some very strong rounds.
Public Forum teams of Maya Barthwal/Crosby Collins and co-captain Emily Gizersky/Jared Gizersky each won a round. Novice Public Forum competitors Riya Sikand and Joseph Sciortino had an excellent inaugural tournament, winning two of their rounds, while co-captain Tucker Scott and Rowan Johnson won two of their rounds in "Parli".
Congratulations to Congressional competitors Zanc Zhao, Ilan Lozner, Rishi Sondhi, and Todd Rado, as well. This was Ranney's first time competing in that category.
While the virtual format was a new obstacle to contend with the whole team did a fantastic job and looks forward to their next tournament in December.
