Three Students Place at Jersey Shore Science (Virtual) Fair

Three Ranney students placed in their respective categories in the 46th Annual Jersey Shore Science (Virtual) Fair on Saturday, March 20.
  • First Place, Biochemistry (Upper):  Emily Gizersky '22,  "Analysis of the Anti Inflammatory Interleukin-13 Cytokines In a Rat Model of Infantile Spasms". 
  • First Place, Computer Science (Intermediate):  Riya Sikand '24 "POTNET: A Novel Application Utilizing Expert Convolutional Neural Networks to Accurately Recognize Potholes in Two-Dimensional Monocular Images"
  • Second Place, Engineering (Intermediate): Jared Gizersky '24  "Ambuli: An In-Home Robot Caretaker"
These students independently prepared for and entered the JSSF, and earned entry into the Delaware Valley Regional Science Fair (DVRSF) on March 30-April 10.  The DVRSF is affiliated with the Regeneron International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF), and will send its top placing projects to compete in ISEF.
