Two Panthers Selected for 2021 NJAJE Honors Jazz Band

Two Ranney School Jazz Band students were accepted to the New Jersey Association of Jazz Education's Regional Honors Jazz Ensembles.  Crosby Collins '23 was accepted into the Senior Regional Ensemble on guitar and Kieran Collins '25 was accepted into the Junior Regional Ensemble on electric bass.

Both students prepared a digital audition that consisted of scales, an etude, and an improvisation excerpt.  These ensembles feature the best student jazz musicians from the state of New Jersey for their grade levels.  The senior ensemble features jazz musicians in grades nine through twelve and the junior ensemble features jazz musicians in grades seven through ninth.  Both groups will rehearse and record online starting on Monday, March 29th.

"I'm so proud of both Crosby and Kieran for their hard work and perseverance during the audition process," said Ranney School Band Director Mr. John Propper. "This year has been very challenging for everyone but I'm so happy that this honors ensemble could happen. Crosby and Kieran worked hard to get accepted, they are dedicated music students!"
