Mrs. Geene Presents to Music Educators on Adapting Lessons

On Saturday, April 10 Lower School Music Teacher Lisa Geene presented to other Music Educators as part of a Zoom workshop series offering ways to adjust music lessons adapting to COVID restrictions. These sessions are sponsored by the NJSMA (North Jersey School Music Association) Elementary Division as Saturday Online Sessions.

Topics covered this year included Adapting/Modifying Singing Games During a Pandemic, Movement & Dance, and Concert/Performance Ideas and Alternatives.  Mrs. Geene presented step by step how she used music picture books as inspiration in Pre-K (Down by the Bay), Kindergarten (M is for Music), and first grade (Zin, Zin, Zin a Violin) to have students create projects that were videotaped and shared with families.

Mrs. Geene is a member of NAfMe (National Association for Music Education) and NJMEA (New Jersey Music Educators Association), groups that provide valuable professional development opportunities. See some of Mrs. Geene's work with Ranney students while adapting to COVID restrictions this year here
