Dr. Noel Delgado Honored by Newark Police Department
Upper School Faculty member Dr. Noel Delgado was honored by the Newark, Delaware Police Department with a Citation for Merit after he intervened and assisted in the detention of a suspect in a robbery. Last summer, Dr. Delgado helped stop two attempted robberies and helped to detain the suspect until the police came, while bringing a victim to safety.
“Your exemplary actions assisted the Newark Police Department in making Newark safer that day,” said Lt. Andrew Rubin, Administration Division Commander, in a congratulatory letter to Dr. Delgado.
Dr. Delgado was honored in a ceremony on Wednesday afternoon.
“Noel really lives the values that he teaches–especially good citizenship,” said Head of School Dr. John Griffith. “His interactions with students and colleagues make us proud on a daily basis, but an event such as this shines the spotlight on his courage in putting himself in harm’s way for the sake of another person.”
