National Honor Society Students Visit Fulfill

On Thursday, members of the Ranney School National Honor Society visited Fulfill Monmouth and Ocean County.

The students had the opportunity to tour the facility in Neptune, NJ, which included an explanation about the sort room and a question and answer session. They worked on prepping the garden beds to get the soil ready for growing season with weeding, general cleanup and putting out frost protection. The students also helped prep soil for the School Garden Network, a program by Fulfill to help schools start and maintain their own garden.

"Working with Fulfill is always a great experience," said Summer Wilderotter '23. "We worked in the garden with Mr. Sinkhorn and helped prepare the garden so families could grow crops this season. We are very thankful for this opportunity!"

"The trip to the Fulfill center was an incredible experience," said John DePalma '23. "Seeing the wide array of donations and learning about the one million meals the center generously produces monthly was very interesting. Volunteering in the garden was both informative and meaningful as we were able to both learn about the garden area as well as prepare it for future use."

Fulfill’s mission is to alleviate hunger and build food security in Monmouth & Ocean Counties and to make sure that all people at all times have access to enough nutritious food to maintain an active and healthy life. Ending hunger is a complex challenge, so Fulfill provides a full suite of programs to provide the resources people need to become self-sufficient.
