Ranney School Board Introduces New Trustee

The Ranney School Board of Trustees welcomed new trustee Jennifer Kane (Pierce ’23, Marlena ’30) of Colts Neck, NJ.

“The Board of Trustees is a dedicated group that pushes for the success of the school above all else and we know that Jennifer will be provide insightful contributions as we continue to work towards this goal,” said Board Chair Bob Chandler (Jillian ’21, Morgan ’22, Brooks ‘27.) “Jennifer is passionate about Ranney, and with children in two different divisions and experience at other schools, her thoughtful feedback will be an incredible asset.”

Mrs. Kane is a clinician with the William Alanson White Institute of Psychiatry, Psychoanalysis & Psychology in New York City. She is a fellow in the child and adolescent practice division. Mrs. Kane graduated from Fordham University and New York University with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work. She serves on two Board of Trustees subcommittees - the Medical Advisory Board and the Education Committee.

“Ranney offers my children an educational environment that harmoniously blends moral, academic, social, ethical, emotional and physical learning, division-wide,” said Kane. “This comprehensive, well-proportioned model ensures that Ranney's faculty are committed to educating every facet of personhood: mind, body, spirit and heart. The impact of this approach is seen in the boundless curiosity of our youngest Panthers about the world around them and in our graduates whose talents shine in various disciplines. These are only a few reasons that continue to inspire our family's commitment to Ranney.

The role of the Board of Trustees at independent schools, like Ranney, is to help set the strategic vision of the school and marshal resources to support this vision. As in other 501(c)(3) nonprofit schools, the Board approves and stewards the school's mission and also approves the annual budget and tuition changes. The school renews membership on its Board Committees on an annual basis. Committee members may be nominated to become Trustees of the Board after serving on one or more Board Committees for at least one year.
