Global Citizens Class Visits Peruvian Fest

The Global Citizens class, led by Dr. Delgado, visited Freehold in October to witness the Peruvian religious festival of El Señor de los Milagros (Lord of Miracles), the name that Peruvians gave to Jesus Christ.

New Jersey has the third largest Peruvian population in the United States, with more than 76,000 Peruvians or just under 1% of New Jersey's population. Ranney students were invited to attend the procession by the local chapter of brothers. The students then visited several of the local Latino markets to view different foods and wares, ending the day at a Peruvian restaurant to sample traditional cuisine.
