Faculty & Staff Honored at Year-End Breakfast

Ranney School faculty and staff celebrated the end of the 2017-18 academic year with their annual breakfast and recognition event on June 15. Head of School Dr. John W. Griffith thanked the community for its leadership and commitment to students across all divisions and departments, and wished them a relaxing and well-deserved summer break.

The following teachers and administrators were honored for reaching milestone years of service:
  • 10 or more years: Dan Moller, Doug Felter, and Marie Curry
  • 15 or more years: Eileen McEnery, Marcia Hernandez, and Noel Delgado
  • 20 or more years: Valerie Schwake, Nancy Rosenthal, Kristen Kapcsos, Kate Greenberg, and Joan Fernandez
Those reaching the 10-year mark received a graduation cord and “Ranney Lifer” polo shirt, while those reaching the 15-year mark received an additional plaque, and the 20-year mark, a silver bracelet. Dr. Griffith also congratulated faculty and staff who celebrated personal milestones this past year, including the recent marriages of Mr. John Doyle, Dr. Nick Accrocco, and Anthony Vernuccio. In addition, Orli Bander, Matt D’Amato, and Matt and Kelsey Hall were congratulated on the birth of their children.

Faculty awards, which were determined through anonymous voting by students and teachers earlier this spring, were presented to:

Carol Ann Presley Memorial Award for Excellence in Teaching: Laura Goodrow

The Faculty Panther Prize: Kristen Kapcsos

The Blue Ribbon Award for Teaching Excellence: Laura Pongrac
and Laurie Rozzo

Last, but certainly not least, Dr. Griffith acknowledged Katie Gibson, Matt Hall, and Bobby Malone for their service and dedication to the school as they prepare to leave Ranney and enter new leadership positions in the fall. Final farewells were also presented to Mrs. Patti Marshall, who has been with the Ranney community since 1999, serving as Head of the Lower School and Assistant Head of School for Academics, and to Tom Moriau, who has served as Ranney's Athletic Director and Alumni Relations Director for approximately 29 years. The community wished them all the best of luck in their new endeavors. They will always have a home on 235 Hope Road!
