Ranney Panthers Make An Impact

This Fall Ranney students across divisions have sought to make an impact on causes ranging from diabetes and cancer to homelessness and hurricane relief. In back to back weekends, Ranney students walked in support of the JDRF One Walk to find a cure for Type 1 diabetes and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in support of the American Cancer Society. These student-led initiatives raised $16,590 for JDRF and close to $2,817 for the American Cancer Society. Ranney's Varsity field hockey team has also launched an effort to raise awareness and funds to support St. Jude in honor of their Assistant Coach's nephew. Across divisions, students are collecting Halloween costumes to support Family and Children's Service and are also conducting a drive to collect basic supplies such as water, diapers, and toiletries to support families impacted by Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. In September, Ranney basketball students brought together the best of the Shore Conference to play in a Hoops for the Homeless showcase to benefit Lunch Break. In addition to raising valuable funds for charity, these students have led by example, demonstrating how every student can make a difference and increase awareness to make positive change in the world. We applaud the leadership of all students involved who are modeling our mission to contribute meaningfully to society.
