Lower School Robotics Team Qualifies for World Championship

The Lower School 5th Grade Robotics Program had six qualifying teams in the NJ State VEX IQ Championship, held at Ranney School on February 11. The qualifying teams were:

38150C - Lord of the Rings - Lucas Yanney & Ethan Bodner
38150D - Kylo Ring - Caitlyn Chu & Ethan Stobie
38150E  - Astro - Rithvik Desaraju & Kieran Collins
38150G - Frankie 2.0 - Dominic Stavola & Dev Nayar
38150H - The Master’s Apprentice - J.D. Leidersdorff & Giancarlo Chirichillo-Casement

"All our of teams competed well and demonstrated excellent sportsmanship throughout the very intense day" said the team advisors Mrs. Salisbury and Mrs. Wood. "We were very proud of everyone."

Dev Nayar and Dominic Stavola won the Teamwork Champion Award, a win that qualifies them to participate in the VEX IQ Robotics World Championship, which will take place in Louisville, Kentucky on April 29-May 1.

The 2018 VEX Robotics World Championship, presented by the Northrop Grumman Foundation, brings together top robotics teams in the VEX IQ Challenge, VEX Robotics Competition, and VEX U under one roof to celebrate their accomplishments and participate with the best teams from around the world. In the VEX IQ Challenge, teams are competing in the exciting 2017-2018 VEX IQ Challenge game, Ringmaster.

Other notable placements in the State Competition were:

Robot Team 38150E Astro - Rithvik Desaraju and Kieran Collins made the finals and finished in the 4th place alliance.

Robot team 38150C Lord of the Rings - Ethan Bodner & Lucas Yanney came in 4th place in the skills challenge.
