Bill & Kathy Maher
With their youngest daughter in her senior year at Ranney School, Bill and Kathy Maher reflect on their decision to send all three of their children to Ranney and how they believe it is one of the best they've ever made.
My wife, Kathy, and I decided to send our three children to Ranney because we believed that its safe and encouraging learning environment, bountiful extracurricular activities and numerous leadership opportunities would enable our children to thrive and develop into well-rounded, well-educated, empathetic and poised young adults. While we initially made this decision almost twelve years ago, we continued to choose Ranney for our children over the years because the promise of Ranney was fulfilled for our family, and still is being fulfilled for our youngest daughter, Lindsey, who is a senior at Ranney and was just accepted to Brown University. Our oldest daughter, Hailey, is a senior at Georgetown University and is thriving there. Hailey’s Ranney experience was filled with academic rigor, multi-tasking numerous extracurricular and leadership activities and becoming fluent in Spanish, all of which have served her with a solid foundation from which to grow and develop in her college years, including a junior year semester abroad in Madrid, Spain. Our middle child, Keenan, is a second year student at the University of Virginia. Keenan’s Ranney experience also was filled with academic rigor, multi-tasking and a nurturing environment that enabled him to develop into a well-rounded young man. My wife and I often reflect on our decision to send our children to Ranney, and both of us believe that it is one of the best decisions we ever have made.
