Mrs. Lisa Geene Returns to The Ohio State University to Perform in America 250 Halftime Spectacular
Mrs. Lisa Geene, Lower School Performing Arts Faculty, was invited to perform on piccolo at her alma mater, The Ohio State University, for the “America 250” halftime show with the Ohio State University Marching Band.
On Saturday, September 5, 2026, the piercing, brilliant upper register of piccolos resonated across Ohio Stadium as the Ohio State University Flute Studio hosted a milestone reunion. Joining forces with the Ohio State University Marching Band during the home opener against Ball State, flute alumni and current students took the field together to celebrate America’s 250th anniversary.
The highlight of the patriotic halftime show—featuring iconic formations including the Statue of Liberty, Revolutionary War soldiers, and the Liberty Bell—was the stirring climax of John Philip Sousa’s "The Stars and Stripes Forever". Mrs. Geene was thrilled to reunite with the OSU School of Music to participate in this special event.
