LS Attends "The Black Violin" Performance

On Thursday April 12, all of the Lower School students who are currently in the ensemble classes of band, chorus, and orchestra, attended a performance by “The Black Violin” at The State Theatre of New Jersey in New Brunswick. 

During this performance, the students experienced musical selections that varied from baroque and classical pieces to modern day popular pieces. The core of the group are two string players (violin and viola), but an electronic drummer and DJ bring a modern flavor to the performance. Even the string players have electric instruments!

The students experienced a performance that specifically is designed for the age of elementary school. The musicians in the “Black Violin”  (Kev Marcus & Wil B) also spoke about reaching for your dreams and thinking outside of the box with their goals in addition to breaking stereotypes.
