He was also an all Ocean County and All-State pitcher and first baseman at Point Boro High School. Geroni resides in Little Silver with his wife and son. Geroni is also the owner of the Peninsula Riverdawgs Baseball Academy and PG Baseball.

"We are extremely excited to announce the hire of Pat Geroni as our Head Varsity Baseball Coach,” said Gorman.  “Pat is a wonderful addition to our Ranney Baseball family, and he is committed to the long term success of our program.  He will ensure our players have a wonderful experience, improve as baseball players, and for those aspiring to play at the next level, Pat's network of college coaches will be an invaluable asset."

Boys’ Soccer
After serving as Associate Head Coach for Ranney last season, Donny Gray will take over as Varsity Boys’ Soccer Head Coach. Gray was an All-BIG EAST Defender at Rutgers University.  A native of Toms River, Gray earned All-Shore and All-State distinctions at Toms River South.  Gray also played professional soccer for the NJ Ironmen of the Major Indoor Soccer League. Gray is currently the Head Coach of the PDA Shore Shockwave U13 and the PDA Shore Sting U15 Girls Teams.

"Donny is a very talented coach, and we feel extremely lucky to have him at the helm of our Varsity Boys’ Soccer Program,” said Gorman. “Donny was a standout player in the Shore Conference, and was a highly successful player for Rutgers, playing center back for the Scarlet Knights.  He has coached at a very high club level and our players are very fortunate to have a coach of Donny's caliber.  We hope to keep Donny on our Panthers soccer staff for many years to come."

Girls Basketball
Head Girls’ Basketball Coach Katelyn Linney comes to Ranney from Fordham University, where she was an NCAA Division I Assistant Coach. In her playing career at Fairfield University, Linney, a team captain, established herself as one of the premier scorers in school history, setting five records and finishing 16th all-time in scoring and 17th in assists.

A two-time member of the MAAC All-Academic Team, Linney also earned spots on the All-MAAC Second Team and the MAAC All-Tournament team. As a freshman, Linney was named to the All-MAAC Rookie Team and earned conference Rookie of the Week honors six times.

Linney played for legendary coach Dawn Karpel at St. John Vianney, where the First Team All-State honoree led her team to the Tournament of Champions and Shore Conference Championship. Linney is also coach of the 2021 Jersey Shore Elite girls’ basketball AAU team.

"We are honored to welcome aboard New Jersey basketball star in Katelyn Linney,” said Gorman. “We are delighted to have a great female role model for our athletes at Ranney. Coach Linney has played and coached at a very high Division I level, while also garnering some prestigious achievements at girls’ basketball powerhouse St. John Vianney.  Our Girls’ Basketball program surely has a very bright future in the hands of Coach Linney; she is committed to helping build our girls’ basketball program at Ranney for many years to come.  Our players will improve their basketball fundamentals while also learning how to see the game of basketball at a much higher level, learning to make in-game decisions to help our team see more success on the court."

Athletic Coordinator
Joe Spernal will serve in several capacities at Ranney, as he is named Athletic Coordinator and Physical Education teacher for Lower and Middle School. He will continue as the Middle School Head Boys’ Basketball Coach and Upper School Assistant Girls’ Varsity Lacrosse Coach. Spernal received his Bachelor of Science from SUNY Cortland in Physical Education/Teacher Education. A three-sport Varsity Athlete at Rumson Fair Haven High School, lettering in Football, Basketball, and Baseball, Spernal led the Ranney Middle School Boys’ Basketball team to an undefeated season and championship last year.

"Joe is an excellent addition to our Ranney Athletic Department,” said Gorman. “He was a great coach for us last year in soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. He is passionate about athletics, and is eager to teach the fundamentals of the games he loves to our student athletes. He is a student of each game he coaches, who spends hours learning the best ways to get his team a tactical advantage.  He takes great pride in teaching, coaching, and mentoring our students at Ranney School.  His work ethic and attention to detail set him apart and we are happy to have him on our team."
