Braden Chavez '24 Wins First Singles at Monmouth County Tournament
The Ranney School boys’ tennis team had a great showing at the Monmouth County Tournament, with Braden Chavez ’24 winning first singles.
“Braden puts a lot of time into his training on and off the court and his consistent results show this,” said Head Coach Mary Mottola.
Chavez won as a freshman and was a finalist as a sophomore. After missing the tournament his junior year, he wraps up his Monmouth County Tournament with a second title.
The first doubles team of Trey Junkin ’24 and Connoly Chavez ’25 finished fourth, defeating the fourth-seeded team from Holmdel in the quarterfinals.
The second doubles team, Max Kelner ’25 and Ansh Patel ‘27 finished fourth. Third doubles team Avi Rao ‘27 and Jack Pentony ’25 placed fourth.
