History Bowl Team Competes at Nationals

Members of the Ranney History Bowl team competed last weekend in the International Academic Competitions National Tournament in Arlington, Virginia. Students competed in both the Bowl team competition, and a variety of individual competitions.

The Ranney "B" team (Caitlyn Chu '25, Claire O'Leary '25, Micah Seiler '25, and Will Vibert '25) finished 1st Place in the lower bracket of the Varsity History Bowl competition on Saturday with a 5-0 record. Claire O'Leary also won the 4th place trophy in a new IAC event, the National Academic Bee.

Other team members included co-captains Justin Atnes '24 and Zanc Zhao '24 (who missed qualifying for semifinals in National Academic Bee by only one point), Serena Schwadron '25, Alexander Dayel '27, and Nolan Webb '27.

"Please congratulate all the members of the team," said Upper School Dean of Academics and History teacher Marie Curry. "And thanks to the History department faculty who have inspired these students to love history!"
