Student-Athlete Spotlight: Allison Sobieski

What grade did you start at Ranney School?
I started at Ranney in 9th grade.

How long have you been playing lacrosse?
I have been playing lacrosse since 10th grade, but it quickly became my favorite sport and I wish I had started earlier.

How often do you play lacrosse?
I play lacrosse every day during the spring season, and at least twice a week during the off season.

What are your goals as a lacrosse player?
As a lacrosse player, my goals are to focus on clean transitions and good defense. I am always defending the opposing team’s best player, so this is a big part of my game.

What is your favorite subject at Ranney?
My favorite subject at Ranney is history, specifically AP Euro.

Who is your favorite teacher?
Ms. Adler!

Where are you going to college?  What is your intended Major of Study?
I am attending Boston College in the fall. I plan to major in International Studies.

What professional athlete do you admire most?
My favorite lacrosse player is Taylor Cummings, the three time Tewaaraton winner from the University of Maryland, but my favorite professional athlete is Joel Embiid of the 76ers.

Fun Facts:
Favorite Food? Least Favorite Food?
My favorite food is chicken tacos from Chipotle. I really don’t have a least favorite food, but I hate spicy foods.

Tell us something we don’t know about you:
Every night when I get home from practice I sit down with my entire family and eat dinner, with no electronics allowed.

What are you most looking forward to this summer?
This summer I am looking forward to spending lots of time at the beach, at concerts, and with my friends before I go off to college in late August.
