Ranney School Basketball Standouts Selected to Play in the McDonald’s All-American Game

Ranney School boys’ basketball players Scottie Lewis ’19 and Bryan Antoine ’19 were selected to play in the 42nd annual McDonald’s All American Games. The top 24 boys and 24 girls are chosen to play in the annual event and become a part of a historic basketball legacy. The teams will take the court on Wednesday, March 27, at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta. The final rosters for the 2019 McDonald’s All American Games were revealed on Thursday, Jan. 24 on ESPN’s The Jump and at 6 p.m. ET on SportsCenter. Lewis and Antoine are the first players to be chosen in Ranney’s history, and only the second and third in Shore Conference history after a 32-year gap.

Since the Games’ inception in 1977, more than 1,300 players have joined the prestigious ranks of McDonald’s All Americans. These men and women form an elite group of some of the top names in basketball history including Magic Johnson, Michael Jordan, Grant Hill, Kobe Bryant, LeBron James, Anthony Davis, James Harden, Candace Parker, Maya Moore, Elena Delle Donne and Breanna Stewart.

The nationally-ranked team is 14-1 this season, including an undefeated 6-0 in conference play. Ranney’s all-time leading scorer, Bryan Antoine has surpassed the 2,000-point plateau this season and is currently on track to become the Shore Conference’s all-time leading scorer as well. In his senior season, Antoine is averaging 25.7 points per game this season and has committed to play next year at Villanova. Lewis is averaging 17.5 points per game, 4.1 assist per game, and 5.1 rebounds per game this season. Most recently, he was named MVP at the Hoophall Classic after leading the team to a win over Federal Way with 26 points, 20 of which came in the second half. Lewis has committed to play at Florida next year. Senior guard Alex Klatsky was also nominated for the McDonald’s All-American team.
