Orchestra Students Represent Ranney at Performances in NJ

On March 20th, the All Shore Orchestra Directors Association presented their annual concert at Wall Intermediate School. The program featured Intermediate All Shore Orchestra and the All Shore High School Orchestra performing selections by Rachmaninnoff, Newbold, Verdi, Puccini, Saint-Saens, as well as hits by the Beatles. The original announcement can be seen here.
The concert was well attended and featured several Ranney orchestra students, who auditioned and were accepted into the program this year.
Violinists Ava Costa ‘28 and Stefania Wishney ‘28, and cellist Martin Heijs ’29 performed with the Intermediate All Shore Orchestra.
The High School All Shore Orchestra featured violinists Krishna Khetani ‘25, Khushi Patel ‘25 and again Ava Costa, as well as violists Connor Gleason ‘27, Katherine Baxter ‘27, Avi Rao ‘27 and Alexander Holt ‘25, cellists William Mallach ‘26 and Ansh Patel ‘27, and bassist Lucas Yanney ‘25.

On April 13th, the annual CJMEA (Central Jersey Music Educators Association) Elementary and Middle School Honors Orchestra Festival took place in Lawrence High School. The festival featured three orchestras - Red, Gold and Blue, who performed a variety of selections by Brian Balmages, Elliot Del Borgo, Bob Phillips, and Peter Tchaikovsky, to name a few. Students representing orchestra programs from many schools met in the morning and after several hours of working together, performed in a concert in front of a full house. Ranney School was well represented.
Violinists Vivien Huang ‘32 and George Walter ‘32, along with violist Brielle Morgan ‘32, and cellists Sebastian Lopez ’32 and Nora Novick ‘32, performed with the Red Orchestra.
Violinists Valentina Afriyie ‘30 and Isaiah Melka ‘31, violist Sareena Rao ‘31, and cellists Navya Gala ‘30 and Elijah Sorial ‘31, performed with the Gold Orchestra.
The original announcement can be viewed here.
“Our Ranney orchestra students sounded wonderful and had a great opportunity to meet peers from other schools, work with experienced conductors, and have fun making music together,” said Dr. Sobieski. “Congratulations to Ranney Orchestra students! We are very proud of them!”
