Ranney Teachers Just Love to Go to School!

A number of Ranney teachers took advantage of their summer vacation to go back to school.

A number of Ranney teachers took advantage of their summer vacation to go back to school.  Each year, Ranney faculty are encouraged to explore meaningful professional development opportunities and this year, seventeen teachers in the Middle, Upper and Lower Schools took advantage of that opportunity, attending seminars, both locally and nationally.  Upper School teachers attended workshops at Harvard University, Princeton University and Rutgers University, as well as institutes in Washington D.C., and nearby Lawrenceville, New Jersey.  Topics ranged from Advanced Placement history and international affairs, to the cognitive sciences, biology and college admissions.  Middle School teachers also expanded their horizons through participating in workshops on technology and the cognitive sciences, while Lower School teachers enjoyed sessions on classroom dynamics and junior teaching.  All Ranney teachers returned to campus this week for additional hands-on training, as they ready for the official start of school on Thursday, September 4th.  Classes begin at 8:20 a.m.
