Ranney School Math Team Scores Big At CBA Tournament
Ranney Middle School’s Math Team took home the top prize at the 37th Annual Eighth Grade Brother Christian Jones’ Mathematics Contest at Christian Brothers Academy.
Ranney Middle School’s Math Team took home the top prize at the 37th Annual Eighth Grade Brother Christian Jones’ Mathematics Contest at Christian Brothers Academy (CBA) in Lincroft on Saturday, October 18. The Middle School Math Team placed number one among the 20 teams and 160 students competing in the private school division. The team also took first, second and third place in individual competition.
Ranney eighth grader Eric Schneider garnered first place in the private school division for the third year in a row. In previous years, he competed as a sixth and seventh grader. Lukas Vlahos placed second, while Jake Feigenbaum placed third. Middle School Math Team advisor Mrs. Catherine Piccirillo congratulated all the team members for an outstanding performance, including: Brandon Mui, Amelia Sollitti, Jacob Metzger, Taylor Veralli, Paul Sondhi and Rishi Sharma.
This year, 320 students from 40 schools from throughout New Jersey competed for awards by answering basic mathematics and algebra based questions.
