Congratulations to all members of our boys’ and girls’ swim teams along with Coach Walling and Coach Toner for their strong showing and tremendous effort in the Patriot Conference Swim Championship held on Friday, Jan. 9, here at Ranney.

The girls’ team finished a close second to Pennington (Pennington 297, Ranney 287). The championship came down to the final event and Ranney’s depth really showed as the girls’ gathered many points throughout the meet. The 200 freestyle relay team of Melissa Cantave, Natalie Cantave, Lauren Harris and Annie Kineavy captured first place while breaking the school by almost three seconds.

The boys’ team also placed second to Pennington. The 400 freestyle relay team of Alex Linn, John Zipp, Alex Stolarz and Scott Silberstein broke a school record with a time of 4:03.24. It was a hard fought battle throughout the meet.

Special thanks go to Coach Walling for putting together another terrific championship meet, which resulted in compliments from many of the competing teams and their families.
