Ranney’s Got Talent! Students Perform at Second Annual Cavalcade

Middle School students “wowed” family and friends, when they took the Commons stage on April 17 for the 2nd Annual Cavalcade.
Middle School students “wowed” family and friends, when they took the Commons stage on April 17 for the 2nd Annual Cavalcade. An evening of variety entertainment, the Cavalcade gives students, from vocalist to instrumentalists to actors, the opportunity to show off their talents before an appreciative audience.

Students brought the stage to life with a selection of Broadway hits, including “I’m Not That Girl”, “Tomorrow”, “Reflection”, “My Favorite Things” and “Somewhere Out There.” Instrumental solos included both classical and jazz performances, such as "Gavotte" by J.S. Bach on violin and a collection of Vince Geraldi piano pieces. Dramatic readings were well represented by members of the award-winning Forensics team, and included the presentations; “Remembering Charlie” and “Ice Cream for Dinner.”

“The quality of the performances reflected the commitment and dedication of the student artists who spent many hours in pursuit of their individual creative interests,” explains Tess Nielsen. Performing Arts chair. “I was so proud of the all the performers!”
