On Saturday, October 17, Ranney parents gathered at the home of Lower School parents, Scott and Sharon Woska for “An Evening of Music”, helping to generate funds for the Ranney Music Education Program. Guests enjoyed an evening of lively conversation, good food and great music, including a performance from The Special K Band.
On hand that evening were faculty members representing the music program, including the Chair of the Performing Arts Department, Tess Nielsen. “Expanding and improving the arts programs will increase each student's artistic literacy and ultimately create a more expressive community,” said Mrs. Nielsen in explaining why such an evening of support is so important to the future of Ranney's music program.
At the end of the evening, guests had the opportunity to invest in the growth of the music department by supporting specific department needs. Gifts totaling $35,950 made through “An Evening of Music” will be designated within the The Annual Fund to support the acquisition of the new Concert Grand Piano in RSPA Panther Hall, in addition to the expanding inventory of instruments available for student use. Dr. and Mrs. Woska reminded parents that the possibilities are endless for all Ranney students with strong parent support.
Reflecting on the success of the event, Dr. Sykoff commented, “Saturday evening was a triumphant night in support of Ranney School and an integral component to setting the stage for the next phase of growth for our music program.”
