Middle School XC Finishes 1st at Pumpkin Run

The Middle School Boys’ Cross Country team raced to the championship at Gill St. Bernard’s Great Pumpkin Invitational on Friday.
The Middle School Boys’ Cross Country team raced to the championship at Gill St. Bernard’s Great Pumpkin Invitational on Friday. Led by Liam Wall, who finished second in a field of 108, Michael Stavola in 9th, Marc Owitz in 15th, Michael Kelly at 22nd, and Vincent Morano at 23rd, the team covered the course in a blistering pace to earn the team championship, defeating eight other teams.

In addition to Ranney, the teams competing in the race were Gill St. Bernard’s, Pingry School, Oratory Prep, Peck School, Princeton Day, Pennington School, Newark Academy, Rutgers Prep and Morristown Beard. The girls’ team, led by Claudia Payor, who entered the chute in 13th place, finished 5th in a field of nine teams. The girls raced against Gill St. Bernard’s, Pingry School, Oak Knoll School, Peck School, Princeton Day, Pennington School, Newark Academy, Rutgers Prep and Morristown Beard.
