Great Showing for Panther Swimmers at Patriot Conference Swim Championship

At the Patriot Conference Swimming Championship, held on Friday, January 8, the Boys’ Varsity team placed 2nd overall and the Girls’ team placed 3rd. The Boys’ team earned three individual first-place banners and set three new school records in the process. Senior John Zip placed first in the Boys' 50-Yard Free race with a time of 23.49, earning a banner and setting a new Ranney School record (26.22 in meters). He went on to set a new school record in the Boys' 100-Yard Free with a time of 51.08, 57.01 for meters. Zipp also helped the 200-Yard Free relay team place first and earn a banner. Zipp, along with Alex Lin ’12, Alexander Stolarz ’10 and Christopher Tomasetta ’10 finished first with a time of 1:40:52. Senior Alex Lin also earned the first-place banner in the Boys' 500-Yard Free with a time of 5:32.64, 4:51.02 in meters. With this time, Lin broke his own school record.
