Middle School Invitational Swim Meet - February 24, 2010

We invite you to attend the 2nd Annual Ranney Middle School Swim Invitational Swim Meet, to be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010.

We invite you to attend the 2nd Annual Ranney Middle School Swim Invitational Swim Meet, to be held held on Wednesday, February 24, 2010.

Ranney Aquatics Director Emmett Walling developed the idea for an invitational as a way to introduce Middle School swimmers to a championship format. “The Middle School team usually ends its season with just one dual meet, which can be anti-climactic,” says Mr. Walling, who has been a swim coach at Ranney for the past 30 years. “This invitational allows middle swimmers to compete in an exciting season-ending championship.”

The Invitational has attracted six teams – Ranney, Pingry, Montclair Kimberly Academy, Oak Hill, Pennington and Wardlaw-Hartridge – with over 150 swimmers expected to participate. Last year's huge crowd added an air of excitement to what, according to Coach Walling, is the first swim meet of its kind in our area at the Middle School level.

Warm-up: 4:00 p.m.; Start: 5:00 p.m.

Location: Ranney School

235 Hope Rd.

Tinton Falls, NJ 07724

The Ranney pool is a 6 lane, 25 meter facility with a Colorado Timing System.

First place plaques will be presented to both the Girls' and Boys' Teams. The top three individuals in each event also will also receive awards.  The meet will follow the current high school rules set by the National Federation. At least one coach must accompany each team. All events will be timed finals.
