Middle School Forensics Team Gives Another Exceptional Performance

If Ranney’s Middle School Forensics Team winning an award at a forensics festival sounds familiar, it should.

If Ranney’s Middle School Forensics Team winning an award at a forensics festival sounds familiar, it should. The Middle School team has a wall full of plaques to take pride in, representing years of successful competitions. So it was no surprise when Nancy Wade, assistant head of Middle School and forensics coach, announced that this past weekend’s participation in the annual Ranney Forensics Festival resulted in a number of outstanding performances by Middle School students.

Ranney 6th through 9th graders competed against four area schools, including Kent Place School, Summit; St. Veronica’s School, Howell; St. Jerome School, Long Branch; and Ocean Township Intermediate School. Judges, including professional actors and theater educators from The Two River Theater Company, Actors’ Playground Acting School, the New Mystics Theater, the local chapter of the English Speaking Union, the Washington D.C, improvisation group Capitol GOGA and the New Jersey Repertory Company critiqued the performances of almost 100 contestants.
