On Friday, October 8, the Commons Stage was transformed into a chic and cozy venue for Middle School performers. Ranney’s talented Middle School singers, dancers, actors, and instrumentalists were featured in this showcase evening. In a casual setting with round tables and delicious desserts, the audience was treated to a variety of solo and small ensemble presentations.

Hosted by Tri-M® President Chloe Triolo ‘15 and Vice-President George Timmins ‘15, and assisted by Upper School Theater Technicians Matt Callahan ‘13 and Eric Chiang ‘12, over 18 acts appeared on the stage. The evening highlighted an array of student talent, including rock and roll bands; ballet dance, forensic monologues, and vocal solos and duets. Many of the performers sang popular covers, including “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” “Don’t Stop Believin’,” “Good Riddance,” “Memories,” and “Tomorrow.” A highlight of the evening was a vocal performance by music teacher Lillianne Torrente, who sang “I’m your Angel.”

Over the years, the Performing Arts’ Coffee House has grown into a beloved tradition. John Doyle, Drama teacher and concept designer for the evening, continues to develop and refine this annual event. Mrs. Torrente, assisted many of the vocalist as piano accompanist. Coffee House is truly the perfect venue for students who wish to pursue their individual, creative interests in a supportive environment.
