Being Money Smart From The Start

They may be too young to contribute to their own retirement plan or invest in the stock market, but Ranney Lower School students are never too young to learn about the advantages of being “financially savvy”.
They may be too young to contribute to their own retirement plan or invest in the stock market, but Ranney Lower School students are never too young to learn about the advantages of being “financially savvy”. On Tuesday, April 28 students in the 3rd, 4th and 5th grades gathered in Panther Hall to hear Marc Pico ’92, talk about the benefits of saving, spending and investing money wisely. Marc is a Certified Financial Planner with Lenox Advisors, Inc. in New York. A surprise visit was also made by current student Alex Stolarz ’10, who interned with Marc at Lenox Advisors last summer. Alex joined Marc in presentating students with Money Smart Piggy Banks - banks that help educate kids about money management with spots for placing money to Save, Spend, Donate or Invest. Each student received a Piggy Bank to take home.
